Concrete jungle where dreams are made of...

Mom and I arrived in NYC yesterday and have had a packed schedule thus far.

Sunday night:
-Landed at LaGuardia airport around 5:30ish... took a really short taxi ride to Whitney and Nathan's apt. in Astoria. (piece of random info.... this community is the largest Greek community outside of Greece)
-Whitney cooked us an AWESOME dinner, including meatloaf and lemon cake.
-Ventured to Times Square in the cold, wind, and sprinkling rain. Ate again... haha... at Juniors. It was yuummy. =)
**in the midst of this all, mom is still thrilled over Kentucky's win and keeps telling us of the greatness**

Monday:
-Mom and I headed to Rockefeller Center, went to Top of the Rock which gave us a great view of the whole city, saw the cool skating rink, and bought a nice little "Friends" souveneir in the store.
-Saw NBC studios, and Hoda (is that her name?) who was with Jason Priestly-Brandon from 90210! Yay! First famous person showing-even though it was through a window.
-Had Pronto's Pizza-just a little pizza shop across from the studio. It was fabulous.
-Headed to the New York Public library-way cool and fancy.
-Shopped at H&M.
-Met Whit and Nathan at the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art). This was way cool. They are currently showcasing Tim Burton and had 3 different floors of his stuff. It was reaaaaaaally fascinating. We saw other cool art which consisted of a quite interesting woman's work. She actually sat in a chair staring at people... all day long.... from March-May. It was weird. We went upstairs to see the rest of her work and it consisted of lots of video/media... like 2 people yelling in each others faces.... 2 people continuously slapping each other... nudity... and yes, 2 live, nude people. Male and female. Standing and staring at each other. HONESTLY PEOPLE... it was hilarious! Mom did say one woman walked into the exhibition and just busted out laughing. I mean... why does everyone have to be so serious? It was ridiculous.
-Ventured to Tiffany and Co....
-Rode alll the way uptown to Harlem and ate at the very famous Sylvia's. It is "soul food" or also known as southern food. Whitney got her sweet tea. =)
-Rode allll the way back down to Times Square for a lil' bit (which included Whitney and I having too much fun at Sephora) then came back home to the apt.

Whewww.... exhausting day but fabulous! More to come.

I LOVE the NY Public Library. I'm probably prejudiced toward all things library but I find it so peaceful after the attack on the senses that is New York. Have fun!
