Proverbs 24: VERSE 12... "Don't excuse yourself by saying, "Look, we didn't know." For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew, He will repay all people as their actions deserve."
I like that God says this, but then again I don't. I want people who have done wrong to suffer for their bad decisions, but then that would include me. Some people's sins are so public and others' are not. It seems we only want the people with very public sins to receive such discipline, but we all know that's not how it works. He sees my heart, and knows me. Sometimes that's scary.
Proverbs 25: VERSE 20... "Singing cheerful songs to a person with a heavy heart is like taking someone's coat in cold weather or pouring vinegar in a wound."
I suppose this goes along with the verse telling us to rejoice with those who rejoice, and mourn with those who mourn. I like the comparison though because he gives two examples of situations that are unpleasant and almost annoying, not outright unbearable... yet trying to make the point that it's just an unwise thing to do because of how uncomfortable it make things.
