If I didn't acknowledge the importance of today than I would be missing out in giving credit to those answered prayers that people often miss... or skip over.... or just forget to give recognition to. This can be a 21st century "praise report"... as we used to always say!
I watched one of my very best friends, CM, get married today and there could not have been a more appropriate song for her wedding than what was sang there today... Great Is Thy Faithfulness. Dr. Horton used to always tell us that when we might be going through a difficult time to take our mind off of our own situation, and start focusing on how we can help others. So when I sat there today and looked at the past few years of my friend's journey, I was absolutely humbled and reminded that there is nothing the Lord doesn't know and that He is truly, absolutely, completely, and wholly faithful. He fulfills his promises always.
I had such true feelings of joy for the happy couple today and I felt very alive in that. And personally, the bestpart was watching them walk back in to sit down to eat dinner and both of their kids were just running around like a happy family, throwing flower petals on the runner and pushing each other down. It was an "aha" moment: He works all things together for His good. Happy wedding day C and K!!!! I was absolutely honored to be a part of it.

I agree! It was a tearjerker wedding for sure! But I didn't feel too dorky when I looked around and saw everyone else crying as well lol
What a wonderful summary of the true "event." To see the handiwork and faithfullness of the Lord is something we miss so many times because we focus only on the "Event." Thanks for sharing such an insightful thought. I am encouraged.
