Proverbs 6:6 Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones, Learn from their ways and become wise!
First of all, I love the term "lazybones" and may adopt that for my classroom next year. Secondly, I think it's fascinating that there are a few verses dedicated to the wee little ants of the world because he elaborates after this verse how ants have no ruler, yet they still work hard and store food all year. What a great comparison and encouragement to us to NOT be lazy!
Proverbs 7 the entire chapter is warning of immoral women.... again. This is obviously a pattern in the Bible emphasizing how important it is to stay aware of this. Although it is directed towards men, it's imperative for all to read to completely understand a woman's influence. Also, what a foreshadowing of the days to come.... which would be the days now.
Proverbs 8:35,36 For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord. but those who miss me injure themselves. all who hate me love death. Hmmmm... does this mean finding life NOW on Earth? or the eternal life that has become so recently discussed? And if we "miss" him... how are we being injured? I kind of wish there was more specificity on this verse. And is it meaning if you hate God, you love death because you will be "dead on earth" spiritually or actually really dead?
Thoughts to ponder.
