Proverbs 3,4, and 5

Proverbs 3: 21-22 My child, don't lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace.

I suppose the words"common sense" may not be mentioned much in the Bible but it is here. Lets just keep things simple and encourage each other to be aware of what's going on and remain "common" with our "sense". Interesting when you actually break the entire thought apart... know what's going on, be aware, and discern between right and wrong.

Proverbs 4: 23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

And isn't that the truth?! It's what we teach our young people to do when dating but really everyone needs to be practicing this within all relationships. Lets make sure our heart and intentions lead us in the right direction. Stay focused.

Proverbs 5:22-23 An evil man is held captive by his own sins; they are ropes that catch and hold him. He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his great foolishness.

This chapter is titled "Avoid Immoral Women". The whole chapter warns of seductive women who will take control of men. This is definitely encouraged in our society hence the new song by Beyonce... "who runs the world? girls!" (and I totally love Beyonce, just not sure on her premise for this song) Anyways... it is amazing how our own sins hold us captive, no matter male or female, and what the sin may be. It truly feels like a prison when this happens.
