Proverbs 31: 8, 9- Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
I mean... this is pretty much the universal scripture for any Christian social justice group and lets be honest.... there's not much else to decipher, or interpret, or get out of it other than it means what it means and we should do it. Help people who have no voice.... speak up for those who have nothing... and continue to do it. Solid verse.
And I have to mention that everyone knows this for being the chapter describing a Godly Woman and it definitely is powerful, although I definitely don't know how to spin thread and I do not wear fine linen and purple gowns so I hope that doesn't count me out. I'm not opposed to picking up the talent of spinning cloths....
Proverbs 1:20 Wisdom shouts in the streets. SHE cried out in the public square.
I just like that the Bible references wisdom as a SHE. 'nuf said.
Proverbs 2 I didn't particularly find a verse that spoke to me, but it is about wisdom and how wisdom is either 1)purely God given or 2) given in an "energetic search" as my Bible's commentary says. I thought that was interesting... and a side note: the Bible's description of wise is only given to 12 people in the Bible and Abigail is one of them. She is considered the "wise wife". Oh dear heavens I can only hope this is why the Lord is making me hold out on marriage solely because he is waiting for all my wisdom to come to me because I apparently do not have it all.... yet?? teheheehe....
