Proverbs 28, 29, 30

Proverbs 28:6- Better to be poor and honest than to be dishonest and rich.

Well obviously... I think it would be better to be anything other than dishonest!!

Proverbs 29:23- Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor

Once again, pride is painted all throughout the Bible. I've begun to look at every unhappy situation that appears in my life and digest it to the very root, and it seems pride is the basis of it all. Why why why don't more people see this? Or why can't we see it at the appropriate time? Or why is it so hard for us to fight against?

Proverbs 30: 8- First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs.

Wow-this is hard to swallow. We all could probably do without a few things in our lives... or the few extra bucks we make. Yes, we'ld have to cut out some luxuries but this clearly states we are to have what satisfies our needs... neither poverty nor riches.

Looking at these Proverbs daily have been eye opening because I have no idea what I'm looking for, just an openness to what the Lord makes stand out. It's funny how we can read the same verse at a different time in our life and it speaks so clearly to us. Obviously, we all have different struggles at different times and there are times where certain verses weigh heavy on us. That's why we continue to read the Bible over and over and ask for Him to speak.
