Man, I'm full of funny happenings this week.
So today, I headed to the bathroom over in Building 6 (we don't have bathrooms in the particular building I teach in) and had to use the student one because I was in a hurry to return to my class because my kids were testing today (like a statewide mandated testamajig).
So I use the restroom... and as I turn to flush, my watch goes FLYING off and INTO THE TOILET! Yes, my most favorite watch... that one of my BFs (Shauna) got me... and there it is laying in the bottom of the toilet, BEFORE I flushed. ugh.
Soo...I panick. And the poor little middle schooler in the stall beside me is probably thinking, "who is this crazy lady?!" I zip my pants... and start running around the bathroom frantically thinking... "Do I go get someone? What if someone flushes the toilet and my favorite watch goes down the toilet?! Do I get the band teacher across the hall and ask him to go find me a glove?!" do I send a kid to get a janitor?!" I DON'T KNOW! UGH! "I have to hurry and get back to my kids...."
Then finally, I grab a plastic bag that is in a trashcan... and find only a piece of gum in it and think, "hmm... I'm about to stick my hand in the toilet, so surely a little minty fresh gum won't hurt me." And I wrap it around my hand... REAAAACH into the toilet and get my watch out. WHEW! I put it immediately under the faucet, clean my hands, wrap the watch in a paper towel and hurry back to my classroom.
Geesh! My precious watch was saved... and it still works... with a little condensation under it. And in case you were wondering, I only went #1. =)

That was hysterical!
That is hilarious. It's in moments that those that you feel like your on a Friends episode or being tapped by someone. I can just see you turning around and thinking "what should I do, What should I do??!!" AHHHA so funny!
to get that condensation out, pour a little rice into a bowl, llay your watch in with the battery cover off and then pour in more rice to cover the watch. Leave it in overnight and it should zap all the moisture out. I've done this many times for cell phones and watches dropped in various stages of gross liquids :). Good luck
