a new friend

So my sisters, mother, niece, and myself journeyed over to Asheville, NC, aka "hippyland" this past weekend to finish up the wedding planning for my sister, Sarah, who is getting married May 31. It was quite adventurous, hilarious, and interesting to see how all this wedding planning business goes, and I definitely learned a lot for myself for the future. :o) But, the BEST part was that we were in a city that none of us live in, therefore we don't know where everything is located. Luckily, my sister has GPS-global positional system. It's SO great-it's my new friend! I have convinced myself to maybe purchase one. We didn't have to worry about printing off directions or calling venues for directions, we just entered the address and it took us right to it! It was fab! Although, my mom tried to say the GPS was wrong one time, which led to an interesting "discussion" where we had to convince ourselves to "trust" the woman telling us which way to turn etc. It was funny though because you can change the person talking to either a male or female, and he or she can have different accents or languages. haha... pretty sure ours was British considering she called the interstate the "motorway" and a roundabout a "rotary." We got a kick out of it and now prefer to call the interstate the motorway- "Take the next exit, then left on the motorway." haha... There were many other funny stories from this weekend, such as getting my sister into her extremely heavy wedding dress in the cold for her bridal portraits or us wandering the cold and windy downstreets of Asheville so my sister could find a cute baby store that apparently doesn't exist since we never found it! It's called the BeeHive... if you know where it's at in Asheville, shoot me an e-mail and let us know!
