The Dark Knight
So I was 1 of those millions that watched "Batman: The Dark Knight" at midnight last night. Katie and I made a dash to Wal-Mart (which helped me stay awake!) and then headed to the theatre where some friends were saving our seats. They were showing it in like 4 theatres!
We got there 40 minutes early and it was already packed! So, I made it through the 2 1/2 hour action packed film and didn't fall asleep, but was utterly exhausted when I left.
I must say, it is quite a film. I do believe it will live up to its expectations and will probably break records. There are things I liked and didn't like about it. I don't want to ruin it for anyone who plans on seeing it, so I will keep it vague.
The Good stuff...
There really isn't any bad language and I was thankful for that. I can't handle a million f words! The actors are absolutely fabulous, and YES, Heather Ledger as the Joker was probably one of the most amazing roles I've ever seen played. Personally, it was ten times freakier for me since he is no longer alive, but he did play this part to perfection. This movie definitely keeps you on your toes the full 2 1/2 hours, which is needed when it gets that lengthy. I also LOVE looking at all the cool Batman gizmos and gadgets and you can't forget the "bat cave"! Christian Bale isn't too bad to look at either, so that always helps.
The Not So Good stuff...
Geesh, definitely had to turn my head a few times when it came to some violent, gory parts. I still felt the ultimate effect though. Didn't care for the freaky voice they gave Batman. I actually kinda laughed, because it sounded so fake to me. I really enjoyed the Joker line-up, but I didn't care for the Two Face drama. Oh well though, that's probably how the comic book does it.
I should never be a movie critic, because I'm sure I don't look at the stuff they do, but these were my overall thoughts. I think you should definitely go see it and pay the money for it. It's a superb film.
