After looking at my DVR and somewhat adding up the hours I dedicate to watching TV, I realized I need to cool it a little bit with my small "comfortable addiction" to tv. And yes, I know it's convenient now that the Bachelor is over, and don't get me wrong-I still have a few favorite shows, but I'm going to be using wisdom when I watch them. :o) I'll fast forward a little more.
Anywho-so instead of watching TV I am now blogging... but in a good way.
It seems I always end up reading so many different devotionals or books at one time, and I have happily gone back to a book I read last summer-Crazy Love. It's SOOOOO great.... and unbelievably challenging. So I wanted to showcase a particular chapter. I don't want to get all wordy on you, but just give you something to chew on.
The "Profile of a Lukewarm" is somewhat sickening if you want to know the truth. Francis Chan highlights personality characteristics, words and actions made by a lukewarm Christian... if there is even such a thing.
Lukewarm people attend church faily regulary. It is what is expected of them, what they believe "good Christians" do, so they go.
Lukewarm people give money to charity and to the church.... as long as it doesn't impinge on their standard of living. If they have a little extra and it is easy and safe to give, they do so. After all, God loves a cheerful giver, right?
